PROBLEM GAMBLING PREVENTION WEEK (PGPW)
This week-long community-based awareness program is designed by the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) and organized in conjunction with many organizations across the province. The program focuses community attention on the risks of problem gambling, ways to limit those risks, realistic expectations of winning and losing and where to get help if you have a problem. PGPW is one of Canada’s largest problem gambling prevention programs to date, reaching over 3 million households through awareness displays, local information, activities and advertising.
RGC is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to problem gambling prevention. RGC works to reduce gambling risks by creating and delivering innovative awareness and information programs. It also promotes the adoption of improved play safeguards through best practices research, standards development and the RG Check accreditation program. RGC is committed to bringing together all perspectives in the reduction of gambling problems including those of people with firsthand experience with gambling problems, gaming providers, regulators, policy makers and treatment professionals.
